Why The Muslim Counsellor?

You may have found yourself on this blog as you are questioning:

Why — or should I — seek Muslim Therapy/Counselling? What are the benefits? How can this help me?

The Prophetic Sunnah of seeking Mushwara is without doubt an enlightening and profitable experience. However, at times, you may find it difficult to seek that individual from whom you can seek Mushwara about your concerns, feelings, hopes, fears, desires, and disappointments, without processing the shame, guilt, and anxiety after speaking to someone who is close to you. Not because they made you feel this way, but it is unnerving in today’s complex society to expose your genuine self to people who are in close proximity to you — be it a family member, a friend, a work colleague, or a neighbour.

Sometimes, this experience is so uncomfortable that we choose not to speak at all — and nothing is resolved for us.

Islamic counselling and therapy falls in line with this Prophetic guidance. It provides an outlet for Muslims to explore issues that may be troubling them or impacting their ability to excel.

As an Islamic counsellor and therapist, I can help you live a more peaceful and meaningful life, Insha’Allah.

Contact me through themuslimcounsellor.com and let’s begin your journey and empower you to experience the peace and perspective you deserve to live your life.

The Benefits of Muslim Counselling with themuslimcounsellor.com

Grounded in Islamic principles, I work to provide a tailored approach to your therapeutic needs — personalising delivery and interventions to support and empower any challenges or concerns you are dealing with.

Islam teaches us how we are all responsible for our actions and behaviours in this worldly life.

But where do these actions and behaviours stem from?

Do we just do things? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Our actions, behaviours, responses, social interactions, interpretations, and self-identity are the product of our feelings, our thoughts, our values, and morals.

When you’re low or sad, how do you behave in comparison to when you’re happy?

Let me be your guide — your support — to empowering the installation through therapy of a more positive and tailored perspective to life. We are all individual beings, and therapy is not a one-size-fits-all medium.
